- ➤ On Tuesday, Fairfield Township Trustees partnered with Duke Energy at the Trustee Office to host a winter clothes drive to provide hats, coats, gloves and other garments for families in need. Duke Energy & Area 4 Agency also shared energy-saving tips to help reduce heating costs amid rising expenses. Star City News
- ➤ This weekend, Tippecanoe County hosted Shop with a Cop at West Lafayette Meijer where 25 local kids met with LPD, WLPD, and the Sheriff's Office while receiving holiday presents and enjoying donuts + friendly conversation. - ➤ Residents in downtown Lafayette are weighing the benefits of online gift shopping against in-store purchase options as winter rains ease store traffic. - ➤ Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office celebrated cook Perry Moe's 20 years of service today by awarding him a plaque for leading a team that cooks over 1,000 meals a day at the jail. Star City News
- ➤ Indiana State Police offer holiday shopping tips to help residents stay safe when shopping in stores and online. They advise using secure payments, well-lit parking, and package protection (with cameras or lock boxes) while reminding shoppers to call 9-1-1 if they spot suspicious activity. WLFI
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Franciscan Health and Tippecanoe Senior Services will host the Tippecanoe Senior Wellness Walk every other Friday starting Jan. 9 through March 20 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at the Tippecanoe Senior Center at 2000 Elmwood Avenue in Lafayette, offering short wellness lessons, a one-mile walk, + snacks and water. - ➤ Purdue football recalled a turning point when Coach Tiller took the team to the Rose Bowl in 1997, setting the stage for a Big Ten title and the 2001 trip. Former players remember that unexpected visit (which sparked hope) as a key moment in the program’s turnaround. Journal & Courier
