The West Lafayette Fire Department C-Shift and Parks and Recreation lifeguards trained at the municipal pool on July 21, practicing CPR/AED use, spinal immobilization and coordinated victim removal to bolster lifesaving efforts.

Wabash Center is fundraising to create an accessible outdoor recreation area for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The campaign passed its halfway mark yesterday with more than $41,500 raised toward an $80,000 goal, and donors have naming opportunities (such as mural sponsor and basketball area sponsor).

Wabash Avenue near Cargill will be closed for construction starting Monday, July 27, at 6:30 a.m. (Detour via South/Columbia, Tapawingo, South River, U.S. 52 and Teal Roads) and will reopen Aug. 1 at 8 p.m. It will close again Aug. 10 at 6:30 a.m. until Aug. 12 at 8 p.m.
