- ➤ Volunteer organizers raised over $12,000 to give a dignified home to 18 unclaimed cremation remains, which were buried in an unused vault at Greenbrush Cemetery — the project began after a Fisher Funeral Home prayer service and will serve as a resting place for future unclaimed remains. - ➤ Residents in Lafayette are decorating their homes and downtown streets for the holiday season. Homeowners like Kerry Brown on 9th Street are setting up festive lights and displays (including a Snoopy decoration) to brighten the community. Star City News

- ➤ Indiana's minimum wage remains at $7.25 an hour (unchanged since 2009) even as 19 states will raise their rates starting Jan. 1, 2026, highlighting a growing cost-of-living gap for local workers. Economists say the stagnant wage may not keep pace with rising expenses. Journal & Courier
