- ➤ Fairfield Township trustee’s office will distribute coats, hats and gloves from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 718 Wabash Ave to help families stay warm - Duke Energy representatives will provide billing program details, and supplies will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. - ➤ Lafayette Brewing Company at 622 Main St. will close after business on Dec. 20 after 32 years of serving downtown. Owners Greg and Nancy Emig (via Facebook) thanked the community for helping transform the area. Journal & Courier

- ➤ Citizens Energy recommends that homeowners keep pipes warm today by letting faucets drip and opening cabinet doors when temperatures dip below 55. If a pipe freezes and water trickles out, turn off the water and thaw it gradually with a hairdryer (or space heater) until flow returns. Journal & Courier

- ➤ Two Purdue football players earned All-Big Ten honors on Wednesday for their standout season in West Lafayette. Jack McCallister was named to the second team for his punting averages, and Mani Powell received third team recognition for his tackling and sacks. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Purdue topped college sports merchandise sales on Black Friday and Cyber Monday as the Boilermakers outpaced Big Ten rivals and built on a win over Eastern Illinois. - ➤ Heritage Hills quarterback Jett Goldsberry flipped his college commitment from Ole Miss to Purdue on Wednesday, Dec. 3 in a social media post. He will sign with Purdue on Friday, Dec. 5 after a record-breaking season that saw him amass 10,539 all-purpose yards and 154 touchdowns. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Purdue football began its early signing period Wednesday with 20 high school verbal commitments and one junior college transfer for the 2026 class — the team already signed pledges Dana Greenhow, Rico Schreiber, and James Williams Jr., and further signings will be updated as they become official.
