ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Healthy Waters Coalition launched with the aim to protect the Ohio River Basin — including parts of Indiana — from pollution, sewage contamination, and habitat loss and will seek a regional restoration plan plus new federal investments; the group will hold informational sessions on November 14th and 21st at 1 p.m. Star City News

- ➤ Tippecanoe Sheriff Bob Goldsmith advised drivers to slow down and keep a safe distance on icy roads after today's first snowfall. He recommended keeping essentials like a small shovel, extra clothes, blankets + water in the car to be ready for changing weather. Star City News
- ➤ The West Lafayette Police Department will hold its RAD women’s self-defense program on Dec. 3, 4, 8 and 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Cook Research Incorporated on 1 Geddes Way—participants should wear gym attire and register for $20. Star City News
- ➤ The Indiana Department of Transportation is partnering with Gov. Braun, law enforcement, and Homeland Security — including the State Police — to share tips for staying safe on icy roads amid upcoming winter weather. Officials have hired snowplow drivers, inspected equipment, stocked salt, and advised drivers to slow down, check road conditions, and prepare emergency kits to keep roads safe. Star City News
- ➤ Today, southbound drivers on I-65 in Tippecanoe County will face a temporary lane closure as INDOT closes the right lane near County Road 725 North just south of Swisher Road near Battle Ground to work on adding travel lanes—construction will continue until the end of the week subject to weather, and drivers are advised to use caution in the work zone. - ➤ The Journal & Courier selected 33 local girls for the 2025 All-Area Girls Soccer team using votes by area coaches — including standout Faith Christian player Hannah Bolton who scored 30 goals and 12 assists.
