EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ College Goal Sunday will take place on November 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. at 34 sites including Ivy Tech’s Ivy Hall at 3101 S. Creasy Lane in Lafayette to help students and families complete the 2026-27 FAFSA for federal and state aid while entering a drawing for one of five $1,000 scholarships—students must bring required documents like 2024 tax returns and W-2 forms to meet the April 15 deadline. - ➤ Tippecanoe County Health Officer Dr. Seema Kengeri is urging local residents to get their flu shots soon after Indiana confirmed its first flu-related death of the season — she noted that the vaccine helps build protection, especially for older adults, and is available at pharmacies, clinics, and the county health department. - ➤ On Monday, Purdue women's basketball won an exhibition game 118-42 at Mackey Arena against Purdue Northwest as players like Lana McCarthy and several transfers made key plays.
