  • Greater Lafayette residents will join the Walk to End Alzheimer’s today at Riehle Plaza, 200 N. 2nd Street at 10 a.m.—the event aims to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association—and participants will carry flowers that show their personal connection to the disease.  Star City News
  • Today, Recovery Cafe rebranded as The Hive Recovery Hub at a community fundraising brunch where local members shared their recovery stories — the organization noted that 30 to 70 visitors come every day, with 383 monthly check-ins and over 20,000 meals served — while reaffirming its mission of peer-based support.  Star City News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Last Thursday, Taiwan signed two Letters of Intent with Indiana to buy nearly $6.4 billion in corn and soybeans from 2026 to 2029—Gov. Mike Braun, Lt. Gov. Micah Bekwith and Agriculture Director Don Lamb attended the signing, marking a boost for farmers in a tough market.  Star City News

  • Rainbow Trout Solar is seeking a judicial review after its solar facility project was denied by the Tippecanoe County Board of Zoning Appeals in August. The company claims the board made errors—relying on opinion instead of evidence in its decision.  Star City News
  • Today at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds, residents can recycle electronics from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at E-Waste Day and Lafayette Fire Department inspector Zach Dague advised on properly disposing of batteries and devices to prevent fire hazards—he stressed using the proper charger and discarding damaged batteries.  Star City News

  • Franciscan and Chariot Automotive are hosting a car seat safety clinic today from 9 a.m. to noon at Twin City Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT on State Road 38 East in Lafayette—experts will inspect car seats, provide free ones to qualified families, serve Igloo Frozen Custard, and require children to be present.  Star City News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Local high school football games are underway tonight in Lafayette as teams like McCutcheon, Lafayette Jeff, West Lafayette, Central Catholic and Seeger play in key matchups. McCutcheon—led by junior running back Tyler Brigham—will try to break a six-game losing streak in the Battle of the Sword rivalry while other teams look to boost their confidence for the postseason.  Journal & Courier
  • Friday night high school football scores from Sept. 26 were posted for games in Lafayette and across Indiana — with Lafayette Jeff winning 77-0 over Anderson and many teams reporting varied results.
