- ➤ Today, community members, city council and staff cut the ribbon for Lafayette’s Isaiah House 117—a fully furnished home for children in unsafe housing conditions. Starting Monday, the facility will provide a safe place to stay—a needed step for kids facing unstable lives. Star City News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A warrant was issued for Trent Lewis Robinson on Aug. 22 after a special prosecutor moved to revoke his probation for failing drug tests that violated his suspended sentence following the 2022 hit-and-run that killed Purdue student Zixuan Mo—Robinson now faces arrest to serve the remainder of his sentence. - ➤ Ivy Tech Community College Lafayette started its second Machine Tool Technology Program cohort with a ribbon-cutting ceremony—12 students received full-year tuition funded by a $35,000 Duke Energy grant to boost local advanced manufacturing training. WLFI

- ➤ McCutcheon will face Lafayette Jeff at 7:00 tomorrow as the Mavs try to bounce back after a 30-13 loss while the Bronchos, fresh off a 46-29 win last Friday, prepare to control the game. Coaches said both teams will focus on avoiding mistakes (each side stressed discipline as the contest unfolds). WLFI
- ➤ Coach Barry Odom convinced receiver Arhmad Branch—who had entered the transfer portal—to stay at Purdue, and his strong spring practice led to a 49-yard touchdown catch in the season opener. - ➤ On Sept. 5, Lafayette Jeff shut out McCutcheon 42–0 as senior defensive lineman Aaden Aytch led the team with two tackles for loss and a blocked punt—helping secure the win.
