- ➤ Today at 6 p.m., the Tippecanoe County Board of Zoning Appeals will vote on the Rainbow Trout Solar project on 1,700 acres of farmland — plans to install solar panels on 646 acres — after a summerlong debate over farmland loss and environmental impact. The decision will determine whether the project moves forward or must wait for a review of local ordinances. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Lafayette will release $500,000 in opioid settlement funds in 2025 to support prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm reduction programs. Applications open on Sept. 2 and close at noon on Sept. 30—awards will be announced on Nov. 3. Star City News
- ➤ Lafayette’s courthouse will light up purple tonight for Opioid Overdose Awareness Month and glow orange on August 29 for Hunger Action Month and Food Finders—aimed at reducing stigma around drug-related deaths and substance abuse. - ➤ Lafayette will open applications on Sept. 2 for $500K from opioid settlement funds that are part of a $3.37M allocation for evidence based programs to prevent opioid misuse, treat addiction and support recovery.
