- ➤ Smoke from Canadian wildfires has made the air unhealthy for sensitive groups in Indiana and several other states, AirNow data showed as of Monday, Aug 4. Health officials say fine particles like PM2.5 can cause coughing and chest tightness — people with asthma are urged to exercise caution — as officials continue to monitor air quality. - ➤ Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita invites Indiana State Fair visitors to check for unclaimed money at his booth—located in the Mercantile Building and open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (except Mondays) from August 1 to August 17. - ➤ CityBus in Lafayette will offer free rides from Aug. 11 to Aug. 23 as riders get a chance to set up EZfare accounts with automatic fare capping. Sunday service ended on Aug. 3 and CityBus FLEX ended on Aug. 8 while a redesigned route network and extended Saturday service now serve busy corridors — changes aimed at better meeting community needs.
