- ➤ Two Lafayette firefighters, Sgt. David Rose and Lt. Ben Shultz, returned home after a three‐week mission in Texas where each walked over 100 miles to help Kerr County flood victims. Star City News
- ➤ The Greater Lafayette Family Shelter is holding a Christmas in July online fundraiser until August 1 to collect donations that will support emergency housing, meals, and other services for families in crisis in Tippecanoe County. Executive director Steven Flowers said donations are usually down at this time of year—each gift is vital to keeping the shelter’s operations running. Journal & Courier

- ➤ Panera Bread is permanently closing its fresh dough production facilities over the next two years as it shifts to an on-demand baked goods model—72 employees will lose their jobs at a Missouri location by Sept. 12. The closures do not affect Indiana since the chain has no production facility here—its 45 local cafes will continue to receive par-baked dough from third-party contractors. Journal & Courier

- ➤ Former Purdue star Zach Edey (Memphis Grizzlies center) pleaded guilty to speeding on May 1 in Indiana when he was clocked at 101 mph in a 55-mph zone and will pay $639.50 in fines and court costs after the reckless driving charge was dropped. Journal & Courier

- ➤ The Haan Museum celebrated Lafayette’s bicentennial with a Lunch and Learn event that featured an exhibit on 200 years of local art and culture and a talk by guest speaker Angie Klink.
