- ➤ Lafayette Transitional Housing Center CEO Jennifer Layton revealed plans to transform public land off McCarty Street into 26 one-bedroom apartments for homeless and veterans—aimed to be near hospitals and the VA to ease access to services. Further planning is needed before construction begins to address the rising housing crisis for seniors and those on fixed incomes. Star City News

- ➤ Christopher Morgan—43, a man from Stockwell with a long criminal history and designated as a habitual offender—is charged with Level 4 felony burglary and Class A misdemeanor theft after stealing electronics from a Purdue housing cooperative on July 7. Star City News
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Southern Airways will stop offering flights from Purdue Airport after August 5, and SkyWest Airlines will begin daily United Express flights with the opening of the Amelia Earhart Terminal—an update Purdue officials said supports future travel for local students and residents. - ➤ Over the weekend, students ages 8 to 11 competed for the Little Miss and Mister titles in Tippecanoe County’s 4‑H competition — Kate Korty from Hershey Elementary won Little Miss and Ezra Hayden from Faith Christian won Little Mister while runners-up were Stella Fox of West Lafayette Elementary, Naytalia Randle of Mintonye Elementary, Jack Heerdink of Faith Christian and Declan Slaughterbeck of Mayflower Mill Elementary. - ➤ Drivers in Lafayette face lane restrictions today at the intersection of McCarty Lane and Park East Boulevard—crews are installing a new roundabout and a temporary traffic signal to manage the flow. The project will connect South Street to State Road 38 and extend St. Francis Boulevard to meet the new Park East Boulevard—drivers are advised to consider alternate routes during construction. WLFI

- ➤ Hartford Bakery Inc. is recalling six lots of its Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style 1/2 Loaf sold at Kroger and Walmart in Indiana and other states after some loaves were found to contain visible hazelnuts that were not declared on the packaging+ customers with nut allergies should return the products for a refund.
