- ➤ On Wednesday morning in Lafayette, inmate Gentle Thomas Jr. allegedly attacked a deputy prosecutor at Tippecanoe Superior Court 5 by striking him with a small pencil—though the prosecutor was not seriously hurt—and was transferred from custody soon after. Journal & Courier
- ➤ On Tuesday, the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office warned residents that scammers are using deputies’ names to ask for credit card numbers and personal details, and Sheriff Bob Goldsmith said calls about traffic tickets or warrants are always handled through the court system + residents can call the office or check the courts to verify.
