  • Motorcyclists and Jeep drivers will gather on Progress Drive in Lafayette this Saturday for the fourth annual No Hero Should Be Homeless ride to raise funds for veteran and homeless services. The event will include games and food while proceeds benefit LTHC Homeless Services.  Star City News

  • Mark's Fireworks in Lafayette is preparing for the Fourth of July by stocking over 1,000 items and drawing customers who spend anywhere from $60 to $3,000. New worker Devin said the store keeps prices low by buying directly from China before tariffs hit+ many shoppers in Lafayette are already planning for the celebration next month.  Star City News

CRIME NEWS

  • Lafayette man Demarrius Fields was charged with burglary and theft in Tippecanoe County after police linked him to a May 23 break-in at Adda Indian Cuisine in West Lafayette—he allegedly broke in around 1 a.m. and stole electronic tablets and beverages—and had previous theft convictions.  Star City News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • United Way of Greater Lafayette runs a three-week free Kindergarten Countdown Camp at Wea Ridge to help pre-K kids learn skills like proper pencil grip and safe scissor use before starting kindergarten in August. Teacher Christina Wallis—teaching this year’s camp—observed that the program improves the students' focus and readiness for school.  Star City News

  • Lafayette drivers face delays as left turn lanes on Fannon Drive, 9th Street and Greenbush Street are closed from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day through Friday for sewer system improvements. City crews work on the upgrades, and motorists are advised to plan alternate routes.  Star City News
