EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Purdue University's Beering Hall houses the Vision 21 Conference Room (nicknamed the Jedi Council Room) which offers students and staff a clear view of campus landmarks like the Bell Tower and Founders Park. The room is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for study sessions, meetings and group reservations through Purdue's public booking website. Journal & Courier
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The EPA has given a $2 million grant to help Lafayette remove toxins and heavy metals at the old Boxboard Paper Mill site at 40 Chestnut Street + the city is contributing $500,000 to the cleanup. The project will begin in Summer 2026 after administrative tasks are complete and is planned to add a trail for locals to enjoy the riverfront. Star City News

- ➤ Tippecanoe County will test all 77 outdoor warning sirens during scheduled maintenance over the next several weeks, so residents may hear brief activations. County officials say the routine tests (meant to check system function) will not cause concern. Star City News
