  • Tropicanoe Cove will host Dad’s Day on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.—families can join special father-and-child activities as part of the water park’s Father’s Day celebration, with dads receiving free entry when a child's ticket is purchased.  Star City News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Purdue University said Tuesday that students in low enrollment programs will complete their degrees without interruption—Public Law 213 still applies while the university waits for an updated list from the state later this summer. The university also noted that any consolidation of programs will not reduce student opportunities.  Journal & Courier
  • Paramount Lafayette is offering free breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. and lunch from 11 to 12:30 for students under 18 at 1904 Elmwood Avenue through June 27 to help families manage summer meal needs — Lafayette School Corporation is also providing free meals at Glen Acres, Miami, Earhart and Vinton elementary schools for anyone 18 and under.  Star City News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Nighttime lane closures will affect I-65 between Swisher Road and County Road 600 North in Tippecanoe County starting Monday, June 16, as INDOT crews pave the road for improved riding conditions—construction is expected to last until early July—and drivers are urged to slow down in the work zones.  Journal & Courier
  • Starting July 1, Indiana’s Adult Protective Services will be managed by Public Consulting Group Indiana from Indianapolis instead of county prosecutors—this change shifts investigation duties while the hotline continues to operate.  Journal & Courier

SPORTS NEWS

  • Raderrion Daniels became the 11th verbal commit in Purdue's 2026 recruiting class — joining cornerback Emoni Smith as part of the effort to rebuild the secondary after several transfers left gaps on the depth chart. The three-star defensive back had three interceptions, 12 pass breakups and two forced fumbles last season at Lake Cormorant.  Journal & Courier
  • After last Friday’s NCAA settlement ruling allowed schools to pay athletes directly, Purdue basketball coach Matt Painter said the change supports competitive balance and sets a base payment up to the cap limit. He explained that extra earnings from name, image and likeness deals will follow, as Purdue held its first summer practice on Monday — a move he believes levels the playing field.  Journal & Courier
