- ➤ Food Finders Food Bank in Lafayette is asking local businesses and groups to volunteer this summer — volunteer numbers drop as Purdue students leave and families travel. The food bank needs at least 300 volunteers each week to meet high food assistance demand. Journal & Courier

- ➤ Javier Salazar Sr. of Lafayette was charged with felony and misdemeanor domestic battery on June 2 after he allegedly hurt his wife at his East 900 South home—she had a swollen eye and his son tried to help—before he fled on foot and was later found in a cornfield, and he also faces a domestic battery charge from a prior conviction.
