- ➤ Dimanione Lovelace Jr. was sentenced to 72 years—64 in prison and 8 on probation—for fatally shooting Anthony Holdbrook during an illegal firearm trade on January 1 outside a Lafayette residence. Star City News
- ➤ Shoplifters stole more than $250 in goods from Generation NA in Downtown Lafayette, and the business posted photos on social media to help a 30,000-strong community and the Lafayette Police Department quickly identify the thieves. Star City News
- ➤ Dimanione Lovelace Jr. was sentenced to 64 years in prison and eight years of probation for his role in the deadly New Year's Day shooting that killed 18-year-old Anthony Holdbrook near his Lafayette apartment—he was one of five Kokomo men charged with felony murder, murder, and multiple attempted robbery charges. Braun requested a presidential disaster declaration from FEMA after the Indiana Department of Homeland Security finished damage assessments of severe storms, flooding, and tornadoes from March 30 to April 9 — FEMA will review the request and the state will work with county emergency management agencies if approval is granted. - ➤ South 18th Street in Lafayette will close Monday through July 4 for railroad track repairs between Brady Lane and Normandy Drive — city officials said this is the final scheduled rail repair closure for the area. Star City News
