- ➤ The Lafayette Police Department will host its Kona and Cops event this Saturday at several locations including Munger Park, McAllister Rec Center, and Columbian Park, where free shaved ice will be given out to celebrate summer. Star City News
- ➤ Turning Pointe Dance Academy moved to a new facility (Klondike Road in West Lafayette) thanks to community support from families and local organizations earlier this year. The school kept classes running and strengthened its mission with help from dozens of volunteers. WLFI
- ➤ Lafayette Urban Ministry offers LUM Camp from July 28-31 at Jameson Camp for kids 8 to 10 who qualify for free lunch, with swimming planned. The ministry also offers financial help (at 420 N. - ➤ Indiana now records the nation's lowest gas price at $3.81 per gallon—after suspending the state sales tax on gas earlier this month; the suspension ends on June 7. Star City News
- ➤ Southwire’s Lafayette facility saved energy and earned $286,000 from Duke Energy’s Smart $aver program after installing LED lights and an optimized chiller system on May 28. The upgrades reduced energy use by 75% and nearly 1.9 million kWh per year, which is enough to power 175 homes. Journal & Courier
