- ➤ Mind Your Manners Bootcamp will return to Thomas Duncan Hall in downtown Lafayette from June 10 to 12 and is open for free to anyone aged 8 and older—each day runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with doors opening at 9:30 a.m., and spots are limited to 30 participants per day; interested individuals must reserve by calling Duncan Hall at 765-742-4788 by June 3. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police arrested Houston men Jacoby Zachery Batiste (24) and Dexter Robinson (25) on May 21 for stealing nearly $135,000 from the Purdue Federal Credit Union ATM in West Lafayette; authorities said they are part of a six-man group facing theft and related charges and are held in Houston awaiting extradition to Tippecanoe County. - ➤ Students with outstanding lunch debt had their balances wiped clean Tuesday when the Lafayette Regional Association of Realtors donated $4,579 to Tippecanoe School Corp—money raised from realtors, clients, and local businesses in less than two weeks. - ➤ Health officials report that tick season is here in Indiana and six tick species spread illnesses such as Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever and red meat allergy. Officials advise residents to wear protective clothing, use repellents and check for ticks after outdoor activities (including areas with Gulf Coast and Asian longhorned ticks) and keep yards dry (to reduce tick habitats).
