ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Two drivers were injured in a head-on crash on State Road 43 when a car tried to pass illegally on May 14 at 6:43 a.m. near County Road 900 North in Tippecanoe County — the Chevrolet Traverse driver was wearing a seatbelt while the GMC Sierra driver was not — and both were taken to Lafayette hospitals with leg fractures.  Star City News

  • Residents in Lafayette have received scam emails claiming unpaid toll fees that appear to come from TxTag using .gov email addresses—state officials and an information security engineer advised checking sender details and avoiding links to protect personal information.  Star City News

  • The Purdue Memorial Union will host a free Summer Concert Series every Friday through June and July except July 4 with concerts running from 6 to 8 p.m. on the East Terrace — guests can sit on provided tables and chairs or bring their own lawn chairs or blankets — while food and drinks are sold at Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux.  Journal & Courier
  • Lafayette will celebrate its 200th anniversary with a Bicentennial Costume Ball on June 28th from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds Coliseum—featuring live music from local groups, a buffet dinner by Outpost Catering, and an invitation for guests to wear period costumes; tickets cost $65 per person or $500 for a table of eight and must be purchased by May 30th.  Star City News

  • Tippecanoe County Area Plan Commission is hosting two public input sessions to gather feedback on the future land use of unincorporated areas in Wea and Sheffield townships. The sessions will be held on June 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Wea Ridge Middle School (4410 S. 150 E) and on June 24 at 6:30 p.m. at Wainwright Middle School (7501 E. 700 S).  Journal & Courier
  • The IEDC is selling two parcels of land in Lebanon from its LEAP District project for less than what state taxpayers paid two years ago to lower maintenance costs + better align with its long-term vision. The move follows major investments in the technology park, including Eli Lilly’s recent purchase of land nearby to support future development.  Journal & Courier

  • Purdue’s equestrian team won its first national team championship and head coach Kathryn Kraft said the title is a milestone for the program+ she added it will inspire greater commitment for future competitions.
