  • On May 9th, the UCLA Bruins and Nebraska Cornhuskers played in the Big Ten softball semifinal at Purdue University’s Bittinger Stadium in West Lafayette—both teams made strong plays with pitchers Kaitlyn Terry and Jordyn Bahl driving the action.  Journal & Courier
  • Michigan beat Purdue 4 to 2 in the Big Ten softball semifinals at Bittinger Stadium in West Lafayette on May 9 — the win sends Michigan into the championship game. Purdue ended its tournament run with the loss — marking a tough exit for the Boilermakers.  Journal & Courier
  • At Bittinger Stadium on Friday, Purdue softball’s Cinderella run ended with a 4-2 loss to Michigan—leaving its postseason fate to the NCAA. The team is now 30-23, and head coach Maggie Frezzotti along with players like Julia Gossett said they will continue playing until June.  Journal & Courier
  • West Lafayette track star Cam Schweigert won the 100- and 300-meter hurdles on May 9 at the Hoosier Conference championships, tying a team record and planning to race in Eugene soon.   • Carroll softball coach Sydney Wiles revived the 'Softball Sisters' tradition after taking advice from her mother and former head coach Stephanie Pencek—who led the team to its first sectional and regional title in 2012—to boost team morale and unity.   • Purdue men's golf, now led by new head coach Andrew Sapp, is set to begin the Auburn Regional on Monday at Auburn University Club as the No. 7 seed in a 13-team field — the team nearly upset Vanderbilt last season and has made 10 NCAA Regional appearances in 11 seasons to earn a return trip to the NCAA Championships.  Journal & Courier
