- ➤ Residents will join the annual Clean Sweep on May 16 to beautify neighborhoods by cleaning streets and parks; volunteers can pick up supplies at City Hall on Thursday and Friday before the event. Star City News

- ➤ Multi-platinum country star Dustin Lynch will perform at Loeb Stadium on Sept. 10. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon+ an online presale is already underway for the highly anticipated fall show. Star City News

- ➤ More than 10,000 Purdue graduates will celebrate in nine commencement ceremonies from May 14 to 16 at Elliott Hall of Music — entry requires tickets and clear bags per event rules. Live streams will also be available online. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Central Catholic Junior High won two state titles at the Academic Super Bowl in Social Studies and Interdisciplinary this week in Lafayette (Social Studies: 22 correct answers out of 25; Interdisciplinary: 21 points). WLFI

- ➤ Tippecanoe County health officials say a new Indiana law will shift food truck permits from local offices to the state & raise fees from $150 to $450, leaving unclear which agency will inspect vendors and heightening consumer safety concerns as the law goes into effect Jan. 1. Journal & Courier
- ➤ On May 6, Gov. Braun announced the extension of tax suspensions to save drivers about 23 cents per gallon at the pump — the relief will last 30 days even as prices stay 22 cents above the national average. Journal & Courier
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The CDC warns that backyard poultry may carry salmonella germs after 34 people in 13 states, including Indiana, got sick between Feb. 26 and March 31 (residents should wash hands and avoid close contact with birds). Journal & Courier
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ North Montgomery baseball junior shortstop Aiden Ambriz-Cruz made a tough play during the fifth inning against Lafayette Jeff early today at 4:01 a.m. + He has kept up a .478 average as his team, with a 12-3 record, chases its first sectional championship since 2018. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Purdue men's golf will compete at the NCAA Regional Championships from May 18 to 20 at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis (Oregon). The team, making its 11th appearance in 12 tournaments, aims for its 32nd NCAA Championship appearance after a strong season. WLFI
- ➤ Purdue Softball lost 4–3 to Wisconsin in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament after a 3–0 lead, and the team finished with its most wins (since 2019) as it awaits its NCAA Tournament bid. WLFI
- ➤ At Alexander Field, Purdue baseball's pitching staff stays strong as closer Jake Kramer pitches scoreless innings and the team hosts Indiana in a three-game series starting Friday, May 8; Purdue has maintained a low walk rate with a rotation (boosted by fresh talent) as they aim for an NCAA bid.
