- ➤ LFD Station 3 firefighters helped a mother deliver her baby on her front porch a couple weeks ago when she needed urgent care, and the newborn is healthy. The quick actions brought relief to Brittany Davis and her family + strengthened community trust in emergency services. Star City News
- ➤ Shellie's Cafe honored employee Loretta Grant on Thursday for her 95th birthday in a community celebration. Despite working part time, her decades of service & positive outlook continue to inspire friends, family and regulars at the cafe. WLFI
- ➤ Tippecanoe CAP is hosting a free Superhero Saturday event on April 25 at Bauer Community Center on Fountain Street, where families can enjoy games, crafts, food and receive abuse prevention tips for parents. The event runs from noon to 2 p.m. Star City News

- ➤ McAllister Recreation Center’s Summer Camps registration is now open for children ages 6-12 for a summer of swimming, crafts, and baseball from May 22 to Aug. 5; before and after childcare is available. Registration is online or by calling (765) 807-1360. Star City News
- ➤ Beth McAuliffe is named director of health services for Lafayette School Corp and will start on July 1. She brings 14 years of LSC experience and extensive nursing background (she is a 1995 Jefferson High graduate) to lead school health programs. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Beth Moses and Florence Stahura have been named as the final crew members for Purdue One, a space flight set to conduct micro gravity research at Purdue next year. Purdue will share more details about the research projects before takeoff. Star City News

- ➤ Lafayette Animal Control reminds residents that wildlife spotted this spring in yards is best left undisturbed since young animals may be safe while their mothers forage and interfering with nests can be illegal. Star City News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Mike Braun backed a $200 million boost to Indiana’s childcare voucher program + adding 14,000 low-income children and prioritizing siblings, infants and preschoolers after 15 months of frozen admissions. Families can apply online through Early Ed Connect. Journal & Courier
- ➤ County officials will review a proposed ordinance that would limit future solar farms to 400 acres per project and 6,000 acres in total, require a 500-foot separation from residential property, and enforce stricter noise and glare controls. Community members and solar developers remain divided over the changes. Journal & Courier
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ IHSAA umpire Kevin Kirsch, awarded Umpire of the Year last year, brought his upbeat style to Loeb Stadium today as he called baseball and basketball games, marking 17 years of dedication to local athletes. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Purdue baseball under Coach Greg Goff has defied expectations this spring despite injuries and close losses. The team (with 23 newcomers) will face Ohio State in a three-game series Friday at 6 p.m. in West Lafayette while holding fourth place in the Big Ten. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Purdue men's basketball added top-150 recruit Jamyn Sondrup, who signed his Big Ten Athletics Scholarship Agreement Thursday. The 6-foot-9 forward (from Springville, Utah) will join the 2028-29 season after a two-year mission trip (boosting Purdue's recruiting class ranking nationally). WLFI
