EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Bruce Leak, a tech-industry investor and engineer, will join Purdue President Mung Chiang at the Purdue Presidential Lecture Series on Apr. 30 at 6 p.m. The free event requires a ticket. Star City News
- ➤ Tippecanoe County School Corporation Nutrition Services is hiring (nutrition service assistants and an assistant manager) for next school year at Klondike Intermediate. Applicants can learn more and apply online. Star City News
- ➤ Beth McAuliffe, who has served 14 years with LSC (as head nurse at Earhart Elementary), has been named director of health services by the school system. She will start on July 1. Star City News

- ➤ INDOT has begun work on rehabilitating the old SR 225 bridge (closed three years) over the Wabash River in Battle Ground, with plans to reopen in 2027 and continue construction through 2028; two Indiana companies can complete the beam work required. Star City News

- ➤ Transformed Birth Services, a local nonprofit, will host an event on April 25 from 2-4 p.m. at Matchbox Coworking Studio to help expecting and postpartum mothers access affordable birth support + share personal experiences, and tickets are sold on a pay what you can basis online or at the door. - ➤ Franciscan Healthy Living Center in Lafayette offers a diabetes program that pairs remote glucose monitoring & virtual coaching to help patients manage their condition. Fowler resident Cindy Meyer saw improvements in her blood sugar and weight, and others will benefit from this innovative service. Journal & Courier

- ➤ Purdue men's basketball promoted Boilermaker P.J. Thompson to associate head coach and hired Kenneth Lowe as an assistant coach, adding graduate assistants Lance Jones and Sterling Carter for two seasons while Thompson boosted Purdue’s offensive ranking and Lowe returns after four seasons at St. Thomas University.
