  • Residents in West Lafayette are expressing concerns over a new solar farm and chips manufacturing plant proposed in residential areas—town officials will hold meetings today with the Area Plan Commission reviewing the chips plant rezoning at 6 p.m. in the Tippecanoe County Building and an informational session on the solar farm at 5 p.m. at 101 Foundry Dr.  Star City News

  • Trace Parker, a passenger in a March 2 crash at Sagamore Parkway West and Nighthawk Drive in West Lafayette, died on March 14 at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis from head and neck injuries—a forensic autopsy on March 17 confirmed complications as the cause.  Star City News
  • A house fire was reported on Tuesday morning on Central Street in Lafayette—neighbors said the elderly man using a cane was their concern—and firefighters arrived by 8:50 a.m. to extinguish the flames while investigators and coroner deputies secured the scene—confirming the fatality.  Journal & Courier

  • Indy man George Collins was arrested by state police on suspicion of shooting at a car on I-65 Monday night at 10 p.m.—troopers later stopped a stolen Chevy Equinox near the 193-mile marker, recovered a handgun, and confirmed the victim was not hurt.  Journal & Courier

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Imagination Station will host a Spring Break Camp for kids from March 24—28 that will include hands-on STEM activities like Lego science and roller coaster design. Parents can register online and learn about daily themes to spark creativity and curiosity—details will be available on the website.  Star City News

  • Lafayette Jeff's unified bowling team won the 2025 Champions Together state title last Saturday at Western Bowl. The team—which includes football players, track stars and a Pokemon card collector—used a unique scoring system where teammates take turns to complete each frame.  Journal & Courier

  • Senior Purdue wrestler Matt Ramos will compete in the NCAA Championships in Philadelphia starting Thursday as he tries to become the first national champion in 33 years after finishing as the runner-up last season.
