  • Northern Indiana Public Service Company and NiSource Charitable Foundation have launched a $25,000 relief fund after a storm caused two deaths and property damage in Lake Village — with employees volunteering alongside local responders to help clean up.  WLFI

CRIME NEWS

  • Truman Greaves — a 19-year-old Purdue freshman — was found dead on March 11 at the top of a remote staircase in the Physics Building, with preliminary autopsy findings showing asphyxia while officials continue to investigate his death.  Journal & Courier

CULTURE NEWS

  • Residents celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at Nine Irish Brothers in West Lafayette yesterday, March 17. The bar marked its 20th anniversary of hosting festive events by offering Irish food, drinks and live music that brought the community together.  Star City News
  • The Pussycat Dolls are reuniting for a new album and global tour (featuring Lil' Kim and Mya) that begins Friday, June 5 in Palm Desert. U.S. stops include Noblesville on June 28 as tickets go on sale March 20 and the tour ends Aug. 1 in Dallas.  Journal & Courier

  • Miller Elementary School was awarded Level One Family Engagement Certification by the INSOURCE Family Engagement program on March 16 for its strong family-school partnerships (supporting tools and strategies for better communication) as it prepares for the 2026-27 school year.  Journal & Courier

  • The city has honored Mike and Barb Gibson with a special Marquis de Lafayette Award (celebrating their 50-year career at Mulhaupts and solid community dedication) today.  Star City News
  • Tippecanoe County plans to update its ordinance for commercial solar farms before the one-year moratorium ends in three months, adding battery safety & farmland rezoning steps. The proposal will be reviewed by the Area Plan Commission next month, with a public hearing on April 15 in the county building.  Journal & Courier

  • Purdue women’s basketball capped a season of rebuilding with five standout moments, including wins over Indiana + Washington, a record three-pointer by Madison Layden-Zay, and key contributions from transfers.
