- ➤ On Friday, Feb. 9, at the Riverside Skating Center, about 80 locals skated in swimwear for the annual Dare to Bare event to test their tolerance of cold winds (organized by West Lafayette Parks and Recreation). Journal & Courier

- ➤ SK Hynix will install construction fences around its West Lafayette project on Feb. 23 and begin land prep on March 2—steps designed to minimize noise and dust. The semiconductor company's operations are expected to start before the end of 2028. Star City News

- ➤ Painting with a Twist reopened with new ownership last week at 2049 Veterans Memorial Parkway East. City officials including Mayor Roswarski + Council Member Klinker congratulated new owner April Szostak. Star City News

- ➤ Purdue University professor Sooyeon Jeong is developing robots that listen and offer study support and care by adapting their responses to different needs (from educational settings to patient care). - ➤ The League of Women Voters will host Democracy in a Cup at First United Methodist Church in West Lafayette on Feb. 21. The event will start at 10:30 a.m. on the day, with a social hour + light breakfast beginning at 9:30 a.m. for relaxed dialogue with state legislators. Journal & Courier
- ➤ West Lafayette Police are wearing pink undershirts this month to honor the family of Fishers teen Hailey Buzbee, who went missing in January and was found dead in Ohio. The department supports Hailey’s Law—an effort to create a pink alert for missing persons when traditional alerts do not apply. Star City News
