- ➤ Today, the Lafayette Fire Department helped a single mother move into a new apartment after she feared eviction — three crew members were honored with the December Star City Customer Service Award as Lieutenant Antonian paid for the U-HAUL and a local church raised $400. Star City News
- ➤ After a winter storm pushed the Lafayette Urban Ministry warming station past capacity, the shelter now uses a $5,000 Duke Energy grant to meet basic needs and plans to expand services — it is open from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. until April 15. Star City News
- ➤ Indiana Landmarks awarded over $3 million last year to help nonprofits and cities save historic sites statewide. In Lafayette, Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church received $5,000 for a National Register nomination while First Baptist Church was granted $21,700 to plan building assessments. WLFI

- ➤ On Dec. 26, sanitation worker Mike Bickett noticed smoke on his garbage route and spotted a fire in a detached garage; he called Lafayette Fire, which quickly prevented the blaze from spreading, and he later received a Star City Service Award (recognition for his swift action). Star City News

- ➤ CE Solutions (a Fishers-based firm) opened a satellite office at Purdue Railyard in West Lafayette on Jan. 30. The move strengthens its links with Purdue and local clients as Nathan Boltz leads the new site. Journal & Courier
