- ➤ Purdue basketball donated nearly 9,000 pounds (lbs) of food during its holiday drive to Food Finders, and the donation will help feed local families in need in Lafayette. Star City News
- ➤ The Lafayette Bridal Expo will feature over 50 wedding experts, including local venues, catering and food vendors, tomorrow from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds East Wing — the expo offers free online registration for couples planning their big day. WLFI
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Permit filings show that two planned Wawa locations in Lafayette are progressing. The South Street store is under construction and a permit for store signage has been filed at the U.S. 52 location, but the company did not provide an opening date. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Von’s Shops owner John von Erdmannsdorff said his West Lafayette store is slow with Purdue students still on break — more customers are expected when classes resume for spring semester. He said returning alumni and in-person shopping help keep the business busy. Star City News

- ➤ Indiana officials said the state will forgo running the SUN Bucks program for schoolchildren this summer because rising costs + pending federal SNAP changes could add $260 million a year in expenses. WLFI

- ➤ Former Indiana Mr. Football Brady Allen signed with Indiana State on Thursday. He began his college career at Purdue before transferring to Louisville and played at Gibson Southern, and he retains two years of eligibility. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Harrison junior Jake Schremp changed his mindset to grab 10 rebounds and push his team to a 64-55 win over West Lafayette on Jan. 9 — his improved focus earned praise from coach Mark Rinehardt and set up a boost toward an IHSAA sectional title. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Purdue football bolstered its lineup by adding offensive lineman Nuku Mafi from Oklahoma State and defensive lineman Rodney Lora from Central Florida on Jan. 9 via the transfer-portal process. Coach Barry Odom is building the team after losing key starters. Journal & Courier
