- ➤ On Dec. 31, 2025, Purdue senior Caylee James and Seeger High School football coach Scott Cronk responded to a distressed cow in West Lafayette, ensuring a calf was born safely in sub-20°F conditions. - ➤ McAllister Rec Center will launch its Coding Mind Program to teach computer science fundamentals to 5th-10th graders. Classes will be held on Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. starting Jan. 29 and ending March 26 (spots cost $190 per person). Star City News

- ➤ The Lafayette Fire Department congratulated Firefighter Damon Downey on his upcoming retirement after 28 years of service. Downey’s final shift involved responding to one of four recent fires that affected a former firefighter’s home. Star City News

- ➤ Rossville forward Nolan Britt hit a game-winning 3-pointer as time expired in the Indiana Kitchen Holiday Classic championship on Dec. 31, 2025 at Delphi. His shot, which marked his parents' 19th anniversary, lifted his team to a 60-59 win over Taylor. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Centier Bank in Lafayette (201 Main St. Suite 100) is hosting a contest for a unique 18-karat horseshoe valued at $10,000; visitors can enter by scanning a QR code at branches, using guest services at Lucas Oil Stadium, or signing up online, with entries accepted for one more week.
