ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Indiana deer hunting season starts in mid-September in reduction zones and offers distinct periods for youth (Sept 27 and 28), archery (Oct 1 to Jan 4), firearm (Nov 15 to Nov 30), and muzzleloader (Dec 6 to Dec 21) hunts, with new rules that set a state bag limit and limit antlerless firearm hunts on select properties (which are enforced on designated areas). Hunters may purchase licenses online, in person, or at local retailers and must follow safety rules including wearing hunter orange during youth, firearm, and muzzleloader seasons.  Journal & Courier
