- ➤ The Lafayette Parks and Recreation Department is asking residents to donate books to little libraries across the city to help share reading materials and boost literacy - people may drop off books at Columbian Park or any little library, and those donating large amounts can call 765-807-1500 to arrange a pickup. - ➤ Nor-Nic Place has opened in Lafayette with four new businesses, including Panadería La Tradicional Mexican Bakery, Blade Ink & Beauty Eztudio, Nature’s Holistic Center (Centro Holístico) and Carnicería La Regis. - ➤ Today in West Lafayette, Beyond The Bridge held a film screening that explored how shifting from shelter-based responses to housing and services may help end homelessness—local leaders discussed adapting ideas used in Milwaukee and Houston to our community. - ➤ At its Annual Meeting on November 12, Tree Lafayette honored Huston Solar with the Environmental Award for planting 8,000 trees. The award recognized his partnership with the Indiana Natural Resources Foundation for a corporate-sponsored tree planting event that placed 3,000 trees in Prophetstown State Park — work conducted since 2022. - ➤ Former NFL defensive tackle Brian Price now coaches Lafayette Jeff and trains players like senior defensive lineman Aaden Aytch in preparation for today's IHSAA Class 5A regional final against Concord. - ➤ Purdue basketball signed four new recruits for the class of 2026, including Sinan Huan (a 7-footer from China), Luke Ertel, Jacob Webber and Rivers Knight. Star City News
