  • Lafayette police advise parents to stay with their children when trick-or-treating and to walk in groups while using crosswalks for safety — they also remind drivers to be extra alert and invite families to a trunk or treat event on Saturday from 1-4 p.m.  Star City News

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Tippecanoe Historical Association will offer self-guided tours of Spring Vale Cemetery this Sunday from 2-4 p.m. as part of its 2025 Bicentennial Walking Tours—maps are provided and docents will discuss burials, ghosts, murders, and accidental deaths.  Star City News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Tippecanoe County School Corporation celebrated its new Elston Administration Center last week — a facility built to serve 13.5k students. Local officials say the center will improve administrative operations across county schools.  Star City News

  • Governor Mike Braun toured Caterpillar’s Lafayette plant and praised the company's $725 million expansion investment—highlighting its commitment to Indiana manufacturing education.  Journal & Courier

  • Lafayette Jeff senior Haley Blackburn discovered her love for cross country while running after basketball practice and has become the third fastest runner in school history. She will compete this Saturday at the IHSAA regional championship in Brownsburg—her coaches praise her hard work and note that she has signed with IU Kokomo.  Journal & Courier
