- ➤ Purdue sophomore wide receiver Nitro Tuggle had a strong performance in a homecoming game at Notre Dame, catching three passes for 66 yards and one touchdown in a game that ended 56 to 30. Coach Barry Odom said Tuggle’s effort—his first major play after transferring from Georgia—sets him up to improve as Purdue prepares for the game against Illinois on Oct. 4. Journal & Courier
