- ➤ The U.S. Department of Labor reported that Indiana unemployment filings increased from 2,550 to 2,596 for the week ending August 9—while nationwide claims fell from 227,000 to 224,000 on a seasonally adjusted basis. The data were released Thursday. Journal & Courier
