  • Sophie Royer, a 2025 Central Catholic graduate and 4-H presenter, was crowned the Supreme Livestock Showman at the Tippecanoe County 4-H Fair while showcasing her skills with livestock in cowboy boots, a white shirt, and jeans. She became the third family member to win the title and honored her late friend Jamie Stockdale (shown by her purple ribbon) with visible emotion.  Journal & Courier
  • Land O Lakes & Keystone Coop donated $6,000 and 40,000 pounds of mac and cheese to Food Finders Food Bank, which will use the donation to support people in need.  Journal & Courier

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office advises drivers to keep a safe distance from reckless drivers—avoid following them home, leave extra space at stoplights, skip eye contact, and call police if threatened to help reduce road rage incidents.  Star City News
  • The City of Lafayette is hosting free workshops on heat pump technology at several locations starting July 30th, where residents and businesses will learn how heat pumps save energy, reduce emissions and offer rebates. The sessions are part of the city’s Heat Pump Accelerator pilot program in partnership with Indiana University Environmental Resilience Institute and Slipstream—targeted to homeowners, renters, landlords, small businesses and community organizations.  Star City News

  • McCutcheon senior and Beef captain Claire DeFreese led her team to win the 2025 Greased Watermelon Race at the Tippecanoe County 4-H Fair in Lafayette by beating the 2024 champion Sheep.
