- ➤ Tippecanoe County prosecutors said Lafayette police acted properly during a May 21 Maple Street welfare check after a domestic violence call led officers to force entry following 12 minutes trying to contact a woman believed to be at risk+Indiana State Police confirmed the actions were lawful. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Flourish Studio and Classroom is partnering with Civic Theatre to create a mural as local students danced and painted the theater’s garage. The summer camp runs from Monday to Friday and teaches kids the artistic steps needed to design interactive public art that shows Civic Theatre's inclusive message. Journal & Courier
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Purdue University has been honored with Indiana’s Tier One Collegiate Purple Star award (recognizing its support for military students) from the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, with the honor applied to its West Lafayette, Northwest and Fort Wayne campuses. Star City News

- ➤ Lafayette is reviewing a proposal to build new apartments for homeless seniors and veterans on city-owned land next to the Lafayette Public Works campus+ the project must earn rezoning approval before construction begins. Star City News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ IU Health announced a new Greater Lafayette Community Growth Project that will build the first full service hospital on the west side along with a state-of-the-art cancer center and renovations to existing medical offices. The construction will start in 2026 and the hospital will open by mid 2028, adding over 200 new full time health care jobs (29 physicians and 69 nurses included). Star City News

- ➤ Data from Realtor.com shows that median home sale prices in Tippecanoe County for April reached $290,500, up from $290,000 in March and 20.3% higher than last April. Single-family home prices rose modestly to $292,000 while sales prices for condominiums and townhomes fell. Journal & Courier
