  • Lafayette Urban Ministry’s cooling station is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm to help anyone beat extreme summer heat by offering water bottles, Wi-Fi, and seating — a service that welcomes all residents. Executive director Wes Tillet said the center opens when the heat index reaches 100 degrees to provide a safe place for relief.  Star City News
  • Large crowds visited Tropicanoe Cove today to beat the heat with cool pools, lazy river rides and water slides. Workers reminded visitors to stay hydrated—using sunscreen and snacks as the extreme temperatures continue all week.  Star City News

  • Tippecanoe County Health Department will provide free rapid walk-in testing for HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis C in recognition of National HIV Testing Day on Friday at Walgreens in Lafayette (South Street) and West Lafayette (Sagamore Parkway), with quick results and no appointment needed.  Star City News
