CRIME NEWS

  • Memphis Grizzlies rookie Zach Edey faces a misdemeanor reckless driving charge after police pulled him over for driving 101 mph in a 55 mph zone on Indiana State Road 25 in Tippecanoe County on May 1—his initial hearing will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 23 in Tippecanoe County Superior Court 6.  Star City News

  • Collectors will attend Collexpo Collecting Expo at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. as vendors offer Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, sports cards, and art — voice actor Christina Kelly, the official Power Ranger DJ, and a cosplay contest with a $200 prize add to the appeal.  WLFI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Mike Braun signed a new law aimed at reducing health care costs in Indiana that requires nonprofit hospitals with over $2 billion in revenue to adjust their prices to a statewide benchmark by 2029—this benchmark is set after a study of hospital prices using 2023—2024 data. The law also restructures hospital funding to better allocate Medicaid dollars and introduces a Managed Care Assessment Fee.  WLFI
