Lafayette Urban Ministry has opened its cooling station at 420 North 4th Street to help residents beat dangerous heat when feels-like temperatures hit 90 degrees & above, offering air conditioning and essential supplies.

The service operates weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Laborers' International Union of North America Local 274 broke ground on its new Laborers' Union Hall Monday afternoon in Lafayette + Mayor Tony Roswarski and Council Member Jerry Reynolds attended and congratulated the union.
