COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Battle Ground Golf Club and O’Neal Golf Management celebrated the new clubhouse opening today; they thanked the Parks Foundation and the Parks Department maintenance team for their efforts on the project.  Star City News
  • Registration is required for Sensory Swim this summer at Tropicanoe Cove and Castaway Bay, offering a sensory-friendly environment for people with behavioral, emotional, or physical challenges. The fee is $12 per family of four and $3 per additional member (call 765-807-1531 to register).  Star City News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • New maternity resale and boutique The Ivory Wren & Company opened today in Lafayette at 2200 Elmwood Avenue Suite D6, with hours set as Friday 5:30-7:30 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Tuesday 4-6 p.m., Thursday 1:30-4 p.m. and next Friday 10 a.m.-1 p.m.—it will close for vacation June 6-11.  Star City News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Lafayette School Corp. and Chartwells will serve free breakfast and lunch to children under 18 at four elementary schools from June 1 through 25—students receive breakfast at 8 a.m. and lunch at 11 a.m.  Journal & Courier

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Ninth Street Bridge over the Wabash River leading into Battle Ground will be closed starting Monday for two to four weeks. Officials said the bridge will close again in September for demolition and reconstruction (work expected to finish by June 2027).  Star City News

  • Strawberry season is underway at Annie’s Orchid in West Lafayette despite spring freezes that hurt peaches and cherries; the farm welcomes families and visitors today + encourages them to pick ripe strawberries and enjoy a local tradition.  Star City News

SPORTS NEWS

  • On May 29 at Lafayette Jeff’s Scheumann Stadium, McCutcheon sophomore Elijah Curry won the 100-meter regional title in 10.78 seconds after Ethan Landess false-started; Landess later advanced to state finals by finishing third in the 200-meter and anchoring the 1,600 relay — securing his spot for the upcoming meet.  Journal & Courier
