CRIME NEWS

  • A 67-year-old Lafayette woman, Beth Whitehead, is charged with arson and intimidation after she allegedly set multiple fires at her boyfriend's home on May 20 in the 900 block of Rochelle Drive and shouted that the devil had a hold of her while threatening to kill the homeowner and caretaker with fire—police prevented a third blaze.  Star City News

  • McCutcheon High School will mark its 50th anniversary on June 7 with an open house from 10 to 2 that will show its new pool and improved auditorium — and a concert at 7 will feature performances by accomplished alumni as the school celebrates its growth over 50 graduations.  Star City News
  • All three West Lafayette Community School Corporation schools were recognized as 2025 Family Friendly Schools by the Indiana Department of Education, earning proficient ratings that highlight strong communication with families.   • North White junior athlete Autumn Reif overcame early bullying and built her confidence to become a leader in sports and on the IHSAA Student Advisory Committee.
