Veterans honored fallen comrades on Memorial Day by gathering at the Battleground Cemetery on May 21.
Lafayette veterans, including Mark Thompson, used flag ceremonies and quiet remembrances (paying tribute to service members like Cpl. Martin Miller) to recall shared sacrifices.

Today the IHSAA softball state tournament began with local teams competing at eight sectional sites.
Games for classes 4A, 3A, 2A and A are set throughout the week with updated results as the tournament progresses.
