- ➤ On Thursday in Lafayette, the Quilts of Valor Foundation presented handmade quilts to Jim Morris and Mike Mortensen during a community meal that honored local veterans. - ➤ Cason Family Park has opened as West Lafayette's newest community park after seven years of work on nearly 30 acres—featuring almost three miles of trails, five themed playgrounds, a boathouse, and an outdoor classroom at the remodeled Morris Schoolhouse, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held Thursday morning at 2500 Cumberland Ave. WLFI

- ➤ Beth Ann Whitehead, a 66-year-old Lafayette woman, set fire to her boyfriend's house twice on May 20 on Rochelle Drive and now faces arson and intimidation charges filed on May 22 — she was arrested on a warrant for not appearing in court for a 2021 drunk driving case and remains in Tippecanoe County Jail. - ➤ The Tippecanoe County Area Plan Commission approved a new zoning ordinance on Wednesday that will let single-family homes be built on 4,400 square foot lots—aiming to cut land costs and lower new home prices. Scheumann Stadium, Lafayette Jeff boys track team ended a 12-year drought in the sectional championships by scoring 166 points, led by sophomore Bryce Vanostran who won the 100m and 200m races and ran the relay — McCutcheon and North Montgomery finished second and third.
