- ➤ Columbian Park will host a bicentennial weekend starting Saturday to celebrate Lafayette's 200th birthday with a pop-up exhibit in the Carousel Building, discounted zoo and pedal boat rides, and a high school baseball game at Loeb Stadium. - ➤ At 5:30 p.m. Friday, a 59-year-old Lafayette man tried to rob a customer by demanding cash from an ATM at the Shell Gas Station at the corner of Indiana 28 and U.S. 52, but the suspect fled when the victim alerted others—police later used a K9 unit to locate him near the Lincoln Lodge—and he has since been released without charges.
