HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Indiana health officials announced that the statewide HIV outreach and testing program will end on June 30 due to federal funding cuts (the program provided free testing and counseling in addiction treatment settings). Officials emphasized that HIV treatment will remain available. WLFI

SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ IHSAA released the sectional playoff brackets for Lafayette area baseball as teams prepare for the postseason. Games start May 27 with sectional finals on June 1 at various local venues including Loeb Stadium. Journal & Courier
- ➤ Purdue women's basketball added 6-foot-5 center Anjela Minja, a transfer from Gulf Coast State College, to join returning Avery Gordon. The team now sports greater size and international depth for its upcoming season in West Lafayette. Journal & Courier
- ➤ The IHSAA released the softball brackets last Sunday, and Lafayette area teams are set to begin sectionals on Memorial Day, May 25 with state finals planned for June 12-13 at Bittinger Stadium on Purdue's campus. Journal & Courier
