  • Lafayette Parks & Recreation announced Monday that it partnered with Arni’s Restaurant to launch new concessions and services at Tropicanoe Cove, with the 2025 season debuting May 24. The new partnership will offer an expanded menu including pizza, boneless wings, cinnamon breadsticks and homemade ice cream sandwiches—plus a nearly 1,000-square-foot Party Deck for private events and daily concession windows to enhance visitor access.  Star City News

  • Greater Lafayette Commerce is searching for a new CEO who will use the growing high-tech corridor and microchip industry to boost local economic growth — the organization expects to name the leader by the end of July. Tim Schooler said the role will also tackle community needs like housing, childcare and education as the group prepares for the future.  Star City News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Today, city officials — Tree Lafayette, Subaru, and local volunteers — planted 18 trees to mark Earth Day and show their commitment to a healthier environment. Mayor Roswarski said every person and business must help protect nature, and the city aims to plant 5,000 trees by spring.  Star City News
  • Tippecanoe County homeowners can receive up to 10 free native trees or shrubs if they remove invasive plants like Callery Pear, Burning Bush, Japanese Barberry, Privet and Miscanthus from their yards and send photos taken before and after removal as part of a new Earth Day and Arbor Day program by the Tippecanoe Invasive Cooperative Taskforce—applications are accepted now with a deadline of August 1.
