- ➤ A Lafayette man, Richard Burgess (27), was charged with four counts after he fired a handgun while hanging from a moving car at Romney Meadows on April 12; officers arrested him after finding shell casings near the scene, a bullet hole in the car’s roof, and a recovered Taurus 9mm, with his injuries matching a fall from the vehicle. - ➤ Lafayette Fire Department will hold funeral services for fallen firefighter Sergeant John Robinson on Saturday, April 19 at Lafayette Jefferson High School Gymnasium (visitation runs from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and a service starts at 11:30 a.m.) as he is honored for nearly 30 years of service. A procession will leave the school at 1:00 p.m. and pass Fire Station 9 on its way to IOOF Cemetery in Brookston. Star City News
- ➤ The Tippecanoe County Area Plan Commission approved rezoning for the 322-acre Millbrook development north of West Lafayette by Estridge Homes—set to include 771 single-family homes and 400 to 500 multi-family units priced between $400,000 and $1 million. The plan moves to county commissioners for a final vote on May 5, and developers will address community access and preserve natural wetlands with connecting trails. Journal & Courier
