- ➤ Foundation permits for 14 SK Hynix buildings have been approved so the company will soon start work on guard houses, pump houses, warehouses and storage facilities — walls and framing approval is still pending. Star City News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Lafayette School Corporation announced Oscar Trujillo will replace Chuck Hockema on the Board of Trustees. Trujillo, a 2009 Jefferson High graduate and current educator for the Indiana Migrant Education Program, will serve through the end of the 2026 term (meeting board needs). Star City News
- ➤ Lafayette School Corporation will launch a new virtual academy next school year for high school students by parental choice, explained Assistant Superintendent Dr. Katie Reckard. Students will log in daily using Courseware and receive guidance from Jeff High School counselors (though extracurricular activities like prom will not be available) as enrollment details are finalized. - ➤ Gov. Mike Braun announced the $60 million Iron Nation—Indiana initiative today to connect local companies, universities, and healthcare systems with Israeli technology firms. The state contributes $15 million while the Iron Nation Partnership adds over $30 million, and more details will be shared later. WLFI
